Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. It is one of nine types of muscular dystrophy. DMD is caused by an absence of dystrophin, a protein that helps keep muscle cells intact.
DMD Foundation Kenya aims at offering relevant information to its members on DMD, empowering them make informed decisions, providing them with opportunities, activities and guidance to manage and get the best care possible.
Creation of partnerships and connections with similar global organisations and international clinics for DMD with the aim of putting an efforts on including patients from Kenya with access to facilities, which are specialized in potential treatment for DMD.
